Adani Enterprises Ltd., a flagship entity in India’s largest infrastructure and energy conglomerate, manages extensive mining and natural resource projects across India. At its mining sites, Adani faced the challenge of communicating complex Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) clearly and consistently to diverse field teams. To close this training gap, Adani entrusted CORE EHS to develop a custom, machine-specific 3D animated SOP video to standardize visual safety training for operators.

  1. The Challenges

Adani’s mining vertical required detailed safety communication around high-risk operations, particularly those involving heavy machinery. The core challenges were:

  • SOPs were often delivered verbally, leading to inconsistent interpretation among site personnel.
  • Roughly 40% of newly inducted operators failed to recall SOP steps in post-training assessments.
  • Adani’s EHS audits had noted recurring gaps in how safety protocols were being demonstrated or remembered on-ground.
  • There was an urgent need to visually document and demonstrate SOPs to mitigate operational risks and reduce on-site incidents.

  1. The Solution

CORE EHS created a custom 2–3 minute animated safety film based on one specific SOP, delivered under PO #4830000374, dated 23.09.2021, for a project value of ₹49,000 + 18% GST (₹57,820 total).

Key Highlights:

  • A full 3D animation designed using site photographs and procedural details shared by Adani’s EHS team.
  • Step-by-step visual breakdown of tasks such as:
    • Pre-operational checks
    • Equipment handling
    • PPE compliance
    • Emergency stop protocols
  • Included professional Hindi voiceover to ensure accessibility for the local workforce.
  • Delivered in .mp4 format, ready for induction sessions, display systems, and LMS upload.

  1. Resulting Benefits

Deployment of the animation brought about significant improvements in operational safety and training consistency:

  • Recall of SOP steps increased by 51%, based on feedback forms and quizzes post-training.
  • EHS trainers reported a 35% reduction in training time per session, due to visual clarity and self-explanatory flow.
  • Behavioral observations showed a notable drop in SOP violations, particularly among newer staff.
  • The animation is now being reused during shift briefings and contractor orientations, ensuring better continuity.

Adani Enterprises has since considered this animation a pilot model for broader safety content digitization, with future modules under planning.
