1. The Premise

L&T Energy – Hydrocarbon, a business vertical of the globally renowned Larsen & Toubro (L&T), operates complex modular fabrication facilities across India. For its Hazira Modular Fabrication Facility (MFF), the leadership identified the need for high-quality, customized EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) training content that could standardize safety communication and reduce onboarding time for its diverse workforce.

The team discovered CORE EHS through domain research and referrals within the industrial safety network. The decision was reinforced by our proven expertise in animation-based safety training content, showcased via our animation services.

2. The Challenges

• Existing safety training materials were outdated and fragmented, leading to inconsistencies across project sites.
• L&T MFF aimed to transition from paper/manual inductions to digital storytelling, but required animation grounded in their site-specific SOPs and infrastructure visuals.
• The goal was to develop 13 safety videos, each tailored to specific hazards present in fabrication yards, while integrating multilingual voiceovers, subtitles, and visual cues understandable to workers from various backgrounds.
• The timeline was critical—final delivery required within 45 days, with L&T emphasizing visual fidelity and script alignment with internal HSE policies.

3. The Solution

CORE EHS engaged in an iterative development cycle under PO No: MFF/72000-59468/BKP, valued at ₹93,220, delivering:

• Script and Concept Development aligned with L&T’s HSE guidelines, machinery layout, and risk register.
• Full-suite production of 13 animated training videos using:
  • Particle effects for incident reenactment
  • Equipment animations sourced from our proprietary library
  • English voiceover narration and synchronized subtitles
• Integration of:
  • Re-recorded voiceover for enhanced clarity (₹4,000/minute)
  • Additional video content (₹39,000/minute) based on evolving requirements

Approval checkpoints were established at every milestone:

• Script submission
• First-cut animation preview
• Final delivery of high-resolution CD-ROMs with downloadable formats

The entire process remained compliant with Annexure II HSE and Confidentiality clauses, ensuring exclusivity and non-distribution outside L&T MFF.

4. Resulting Benefits

• Training time reduced by nearly 50% for new site inductees, especially contract workers.
• Supervisors reported a 40% decrease in repetitive safety queries, as visual modules reinforced learning effectively.
• The animations became a standard digital asset across L&T Hydrocarbon’s Hazira operations, with plans to scale across other facilities.
• Audit readiness improved, with HSE inspectors noting the digital system as “best practice” during internal reviews.
