  1. The Premise

Toyo Engineering India Pvt. Ltd.—a subsidiary of the globally recognized Toyo Engineering Corporation—needed a quick, effective, and consistent way to onboard visitors and contractors at their corporate office and Training & Technology Center (TTC). Known for managing complex engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects, Toyo places a strong emphasis on safety, even in non-industrial settings like offices and training facilities.

In July 2021, Toyo partnered with CORE EHS to design and deliver a visitor safety induction animation video, tailored to its workplace layout, SOPs, and safety culture.

  1. The Challenges

Though the environment was non-manufacturing, safety was still critical due to:

  • Daily movement of over 150+ personnel, vendors, and new visitors across locations.
  • Observed delays in orientation sessions that added 20–25% more time to admin processing.
  • Safety briefings relying on manual delivery and printed signage, which lacked visual engagement.
  • Inconsistent messaging due to ad-hoc communication and shifting staff responsibility.

The goal was to create a self-sufficient, plug-and-play induction experience that would free up admin resources while improving safety communication clarity.

CORE EHS developed a compact 3D animated safety induction video—focused specifically on visitor dos and don’ts, facility entry/exit protocol, fire evacuation routes, and emergency contacts.

Key features of the animation:

  • Duration: ~3 minutes, optimized for high retention and quick completion.
  • Customized visuals of Toyo’s Mumbai headquarters and TTC layout, including key safety assets.
  • Voiceover and subtitles in English for a professional, corporate setting.
  • Seamless embedding capabilities for reception screens, tablets, and email links.
  • Developed and delivered within a 14-day turnaround, aligning with Toyo’s internal compliance cycle.

  1. Resulting Benefits

The impact of deploying this animation was both immediate and measurable:

  • Onboarding efficiency improved by 45%, reducing administrative load during peak visitor hours.
  • Consistency in safety briefing improved to 100%, as every visitor now received the same instructions.
  • Feedback scores from induction attendees rose by 68%, citing visual clarity and relevance.
